Be a Mentor

Be a friend, a listener, an encourager. A mentor isn't a surrogate parent or a perfect role model, but rather a real person who offers support and shares stories of personal experiences. A mentor isn't super-human, but a mentor is a hero. A mentor can provide guidance and support to a child who might not have it anywhere else. Training and guidance from our program staff help each mentor and mentee build trust and communication skills, resulting in stronger family and social relationships. The youth are then more equipped to avoid negative activities or peer relationships. It all helps youth develop to their full potential. All that comes out of just spending a little time together!

Thank you for your interest in being a mentor for 88 Wayz. Your open heart and gracious giving of yourself, your time and your knowledge is truly appreciated. To apply to be mentor you will need to fill out the application found below. Prior to filling out that application, we ask you understand the commitment that may be required of you.

The 88 Wayz program involves spending at least 30 minutes per week with mentees, on site at their school or educational institution. We hope that you will be willing enter this relationship with the mentee with the intention of seeing it through to the mentee's High School Graduation.

Remember one adult interacting with one child can change, even save, a life!
